Online Vein Consultation

Online Vein Consultation for Florida Patients

Start with a physician-led vein consultation from home

If you have varicose veins, spider veins, leg swelling, aching legs, heavy legs, restless legs, or skin changes around your ankles, an online consultation can help you understand what may be going on and what your next step should be.

Gentle Vein Care Center is currently offering telehealth vein consultations for patients located in Florida while preparing to open an in-person vein clinic in Central Florida.

During your online visit, our physician will review your symptoms, medical history, concerns, and goals. If your symptoms suggest that you may need an in-person exam, vein ultrasound, or treatment, we will explain what that next step may look like.

Telehealth can help guide your next step, but some symptoms require in-person evaluation, ultrasound, urgent care, or emergency care.

How It Works

A simple first step when you want answers about your leg symptoms

An online vein consultation is designed to help you get clear guidance before committing to an in-person vein clinic visit.

1

Book your online visit

Choose an available appointment time online. Before booking, you will answer a few screening questions to make sure a telehealth consultation is appropriate.

2

Complete your intake form

You will provide information about your symptoms, medical history, medications, prior vein treatments, and what you would like help with. You may also be asked to upload photos of your legs if appropriate.

3

Meet with the physician by video

During the visit, you will speak with a Florida-licensed physician about your symptoms and concerns. The visit may include questions about symptoms, history, and prior vein care.

4

Receive a next-step plan

After your consultation, you will receive guidance on what may make sense next. This may include conservative care, lifestyle recommendations, referral recommendations, or planning for an in-person visit.

Who It’s For

This visit may be right for you if you are in Florida and want guidance about vein-related symptoms

An online vein consultation may be appropriate if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bulging varicose veins
  • Spider veins
  • Aching, throbbing, or cramping legs
  • Heavy or tired legs
  • Leg swelling or ankle swelling
  • Restless legs
  • Burning, tingling, itching, or discomfort in the legs
  • Skin darkening or discoloration near the ankles
  • Dry, irritated, or thickened skin around the lower legs
  • A history of blood clots or prior vein treatment
  • A family history of vein disease
  • Questions about compression stockings
  • Questions about whether you may need a vein ultrasound
  • Questions about future vein treatment options

This visit can also be helpful if you are not sure whether your symptoms are vein-related and want a physician’s opinion about possible next steps.

Who Should Not Use This Visit

Some symptoms need urgent or emergency care

A routine online vein consultation is not appropriate for emergency symptoms. Do not book a routine telehealth consultation if you have:

  • Sudden one-sided leg swelling
  • Sudden severe calf or leg pain
  • Chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Coughing up blood
  • A hot, red, very painful calf
  • New weakness, numbness, or trouble walking
  • Active heavy bleeding from a vein
  • A rapidly worsening wound
  • Fever or signs of serious infection
  • Symptoms that feel sudden, severe, or dangerous

Important:

Leg swelling, pain, skin changes, and wounds can have many causes. A vein consultation can help with guidance, but it should not delay urgent evaluation when symptoms are severe or sudden.

If you have any of these symptoms, seek urgent medical care, call 911, or contact your physician right away.

What Telehealth Can Help With

A focused consultation to help you understand your next step

Reviewing your symptoms

We discuss what you are experiencing, how long it has been happening, what makes it worse, what improves it, and how it affects your daily life.

Discussing possible vein-related causes

Many vein problems cause symptoms that patients describe as heaviness, aching, swelling, throbbing, itching, burning, or visible veins. Your physician can help determine whether your symptoms sound consistent with common vein disease patterns.

Reviewing photos when appropriate

If visible veins, swelling, discoloration, or skin changes are part of your concern, photos may help support the discussion.

Discussing conservative care

You may receive guidance about compression stockings, walking, leg elevation, skin care, avoiding long periods of sitting or standing, and other conservative steps.

Determining whether ultrasound may be needed

A duplex ultrasound is often needed to evaluate vein function and blood flow. If your symptoms suggest that ultrasound may be appropriate, we will explain why.

Preparing for future in-person care

If you are likely to need in-office evaluation or treatment, the telehealth visit can help you understand what to expect before your in-person appointment.

What Telehealth Cannot Do

Online consultation has limits, and we will be clear about them

Telehealth can be a useful first step, but it cannot replace every part of an in-person vein evaluation. An online visit cannot:

  • ×
Perform a physical exam of your legs
  • ×
    Perform a duplex ultrasound
  • ×
Confirm venous reflux by video alone
  • ×
Rule out every serious cause of leg swelling or pain
  • ×
    Provide emergency care
  • ×
    Perform procedures
  • ×
Replace urgent care when symptoms are sudden or severe

Some patients may need an in-person exam, ultrasound, lab work, imaging, emergency evaluation, or care from another specialist. Our goal is to help you understand what the safest and most appropriate next step may be.

What Happens After the Visit

You leave with a clearer plan

After your online consultation, your next step may include one or more of the following:

Conservative care guidance

This may include compression stockings, walking, leg elevation, skin care, or other steps that may help manage symptoms.

Recommendation for vein ultrasound

If your symptoms suggest possible venous reflux or another vein issue, an in-person duplex ultrasound may be recommended.

Recommendation for in-person evaluation

Some symptoms cannot be fully evaluated online. In those cases, we may recommend an in-person medical evaluation.

Referral to another provider

If your symptoms may be related to something outside vein disease, we may recommend that you contact your primary care physician, urgent care, or another specialist.

Future in-office vein care

As Gentle Vein Care Center prepares to open its Central Florida location, appropriate patients may be guided toward future in-office evaluation and treatment options.

Central Florida in-person vein clinic coming soon

Gentle Vein Care Center is currently offering online consultations for Florida patients. Our future Central Florida clinic is planned to offer in-person vein evaluations, ultrasound, and minimally invasive vein treatment options.

Until the physical location opens, online consultation is the best first step for eligible Florida patients who want physician-led guidance about their symptoms.

Common Symptoms We Discuss

Patients often book online consultations for these concerns

Varicose veins

Bulging, twisted, or rope-like veins may be more than a cosmetic concern, especially when they are associated with aching, heaviness, swelling, itching, or skin changes.

Spider veins

Spider veins are small visible veins near the surface of the skin. They may be cosmetic, but some patients with spider veins also have symptoms that deserve further evaluation.

Leg swelling

Swelling in the legs or ankles can have many causes. Vein disease is one possible cause, but swelling should be evaluated carefully.

Heavy or tired legs

Legs that feel heavy, tired, or worse after standing may be related to vein circulation problems.

Skin discoloration

Darkening, itching, dryness, or thickened skin around the lower legs or ankles can sometimes be associated with chronic vein problems.

Leg wounds or ulcers

Open wounds near the ankle or lower leg should not be ignored. Some wounds require urgent or specialized care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a vein doctor diagnose vein disease through telehealth?
A telehealth consultation can help review your symptoms, history, risk factors, and photos when appropriate. However, many vein conditions require an in-person exam and duplex ultrasound before a diagnosis or treatment plan can be confirmed.
Do I need to be in Florida?
Yes. During the telehealth launch phase, online consultations are for patients located in Florida.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required for a self-pay online consultation. If insurance is involved in a future phase, referral requirements may depend on your insurance plan.
Can I book if I only have spider veins?
Yes. You can book if you have spider veins and want to understand whether they are cosmetic, symptomatic, or possibly connected to other vein concerns.
Can I book if I have leg swelling?
Yes, but leg swelling can have many causes. If your swelling is sudden, severe, one-sided, painful, or associated with chest pain or shortness of breath, seek urgent or emergency care instead of booking a routine telehealth visit.
Can I get a prescription for compression stockings?
The physician may discuss compression therapy if appropriate. Whether a prescription is needed depends on the type of compression, your symptoms, your medical history, and your overall situation.
Will I need an ultrasound?
Possibly. Many vein conditions require duplex ultrasound to evaluate blood flow and vein valve function. If ultrasound appears appropriate, your physician will explain why and what to expect.
Do you offer vein treatments now?
Gentle Vein Care Center is currently starting with online consultations. In-person ultrasound and vein treatments are planned for a future Central Florida clinic phase.
Do you accept insurance?
During the telehealth-only launch phase, consultations are self-pay unless otherwise stated. Insurance participation is planned for a future in-person phase.
What happens if telehealth is not appropriate for me?
If your symptoms require in-person evaluation, urgent care, emergency care, or another type of specialist, we will tell you. The goal is to guide you toward the right next step, even if that step is not a telehealth vein visit.
